The walk from Cacabelos to Trabadelo took 15 hours for brother Ronald and me and about 16 hours for Sean. The difference was that shortly after leaving Cacabelos, the Camino trail split into two possibilities: brother Ronald and I took the most commonly used, but Sean decided to take the more difficult but more scenic route. We agreed to meet at a café when the two paths  reconnected, but that did not work because everything was closed. We eventually met at our destination and checked in. The three of us agreed that we had made good decisions about our choices and all of us enjoyed beautiful scenery, even though Brother Ronnie and I spent a good part of the day walking alongside a highway. Our accommodations were excellent. Each of us had a private room and bath, which means we all got a wonderful night’s sleep. But before going to bed, we had supper in the hotel restaurant, which was fantastic. Sean and I enjoyed a bowl of local soup, his made with white beans and clams and mine with chickpeas and cod. For our main courses, Brother Ronnie and Sean had sea bass and a large salad while I enjoyed the best lamb I have ever eaten.

After the day’s long walk and wonderful meal, we were ready for bed before 1030.
