Day 10 was very different without the presence of Sean with us. He was very much the life of every gathering as well as our often needed interpreter and guide. Nevertheless, it was another wonderful day for Brother Ronnie and me. We left a little later than usual, mostly because of the fact that there was only one toilet for more than 20 of us trying to get things together for departure. The number of Pilgrims on the road has more than tripled since Sarria.
Among the joys of the day was meeting three of a group of 34 young students from Taiwan. They were truly delightful as they asked to take pictures with us, and they offered us small souvenirs from their country. We were fortunate to find a church that was open so that we could celebrate vigil mass Saturday evening in a beautiful Romanesque church.
We were surprised when we arrived at our hostel to see that we were in a huge dormitory with 130 beds! However, we were equally surprised at how well behaved the many young people were throughout the evening and night. We enjoyed another evening and supper with our Australian friends.
